Words of guidance in times of Covid-19 from your pharmacist at RxKnowledge PLLC

Updated: Jan 3, 2021

It is only natural for everyone to feel worried when there is a deadly virus circulating worldwide. My hope is to help you find some calm in your minds and peace in your homes as you navigate these confusing times with your families.

1. Educate yourself but don’t freak out.

There is a lot of information going around about COVID-19 that can be overwhelming so try to focus on things that you have control over. Overloading your minds 24/7 with information can be draining and cause more anxiety. It is important to remember that not all information you listen to is valid so make sure you are focusing on reliable sources.

2. Protect yourself

Out of the overwhelming information, the things that are practical include washing your hands often. Limit contact with people especially those who may be sick, quarantine yourself if you are not feeling well, seek medical attention as soon as you feel you truly need it so you can get tested. These are all things you can do to take care of yourself and your family

3. Do not be tempted to hoard

Be mindful of other by getting what you need for a week or two and allowing enough supplies for others as well. Be mindful of the fact that healthcare professionals, law enforcement, and the elderly may have limited opportunity to go and get supplies so keep them in mind and allow enough for when they are able to go and get things like cleaning supplies.

4. Pharmacies can deliver

If you are sick, please do not go into the pharmacy, use the drive thru or request a delivery of your medication. This will ensure that you will not get the pharmacy staff sick as they need to stay healthy to care for you and others.

Take care of yourselves, wash your hands, rest, and continue to own your health.
